Google’s position as search engine leaders is undisputed, and they wield enormous power over all who have designs on having a successful “paid search” campaign, otherwise known as Adwords. They basically call the shots on what are the ingredients of a successful campaign and they are first and foremost customer focussed. And that is understandable – they have every intention of continuing at the forefront of both paid and organic search. Organic search is what you see in the main body of the search returns when you do a search query on Google; paid search results are the more compact ads denoted “sponsored links” which appear along the right-hand side of the page (and sometimes at the top of the main page also).
And they have every right to “call the shots”. They are sometimes touted as being one of the Internet marketer’s enemies, as always playing “hardball” with the frequent “slaps” that they deliver. But at the end of the day, they must strive to deliver a positive search experience to their customers. Advertisers are going to be compelled to have ever more focussed, specialised campaigns as Google seeks to eliminate redundancy. For affiliate marketers, there is an ever-increasing need for their campaigns to include useful content for their prospective customer, and to deliver just what their ad says will be delivered.
And you could never accuse Google of leaving the web marketing community to fend for themselves. What a plethora of tools they have made available – and 90% of them are free.
Within Adwords itself there are many valuable tools for refining an advertising campaign:
Keyword Tool – A keyword tracker/keyword suggest tool that provides up-to-date keyword search volumes.
Campaign Optimiser – Performs analysis on a live campaign and suggests additional keywords and ad variations.
Website Optimiser – A more comprehensive feedback tool that monitors several important metrics to do with website layout and content. It takes a while to get up and running with this, but any time taken to implement it will be repaid with interest.
Budget Optimiser – Where you can tell Google your monthly budget, and ask it to go and get the maximum number of clicks for you. (I have found with Budget Optimiser that I never overspend, as I do when I have control over the campaign myself)
Keyword Diagnosis – The latest addition to the armoury of the pay-per-click advertiser. This will actually analyse which keywords are performing and which ones you are better off without. And it tells you why they are not performing, and what you can do to remedy it.
All of these tools are freely available within the Adwords interface and I am convinced that the majority of PPC advertisers don’t even realise that they are available. They are probably as good, if not better than many of the commercial keyword tools that are available.
I have not even mentioned the other great Google resources, like Suggest Labs, Google Analytics and iGoogle, which is your own branded page that you can load with various SEO statistics and data on popular searches. A discussion of these and other resources like Google Webmaster Tools, may be better to leave for another occasion.

This is not for everyone. Don’t go too far with attacking your competitors. Simply give a relatively valid reason you dislike it, expand on it, and promote your product. There is no need to systematically destroy opponents, really, that just hurts you. Slander and name defacement is not acceptable. The difference between “John Doe’s Widget sucks, here’s why, buy mine” and “John Doe cheats on his wife, didn’t pay taxes, and wears ladies underwear! Oh yeah, his Widget isn’t very good either” is quite different, both logically and legally!
PPC Marketing
Recently there is a dirty little trend going around. It’s an adaptation of thinking outside the box, basically, being quirky. While results vary case by case, this idea is best applied for creative products in very tough markets. For example, write an ad so unusual, so random that your audience won’t really know what to do, other than click on it. This works in mostly two ways, either by completely insulting the customer and hooking them in, or by being very vague and abstract with some kind of clue. You kind of have to use your own judgment and play it by ear.
Using Google Adsense
Now that you have your keywords in place, know how to effectively bid on keywords, and have learned how to write attention getting ads, it’s time to talk about other ways of making cash, other than promoting affiliate programs. Personally, this is where I made my first real break into real internet profits. Nothing is more exciting than logging in every morning to see what kind of money you made the night before!
If I had to choose a single program that could net you hundreds of dollars (a day!), with almost no effort involved, I would recommend Google Adsense. This program is unbelievably revolutionary. It keeps thousands of people like myself self-employed and earning a very generous living.
What is Adsense? Adsense is almost the opposite website of Adwords. When you pay for Google Adwords, your ads are displayed on Google search results. Have you noticed the option, “and it’s content websites”? This is an example of where Adsense appears. When you go to a website and notice “Ads by Google”, those are other people’s Adwords being displayed.
When you host these Adsense Ads on your website, you will earn a cut of the price of what people are paying for keywords. Say people are paying between $.25 and $2 dollars for the term “used car insurance”. If you have a website with the keywords “used car insurance” or your Adsense ads are relevant to that keyword, you could be making anywhere from $.13 to $1 for every click! On average Adsense will pay you half of what the average bid for a keyword is. This changes by the hour, so it can be hard to tell. Expect less and welcome more.
One of the reasons these can be so profitable is because you aren’t directly selling anything. You are the middle man, FOR the middle man. All you have to do is get someone to click on a single ad, a simple little text ad. Once they click, you collect your cents.
You might be asking, who wants to nickel and dime their way to a fortune? Well, a penny saved is a penny earned. It’s not uncommon to have CTR’s on a well designed website to be anywhere from 25-75%! Let’s say you have a website with Adsense ads based on the keywords “dog treats”. You are paying an average of $.08 per click with Adwords. You get 100 visitors a day. You are spending $8 a day. Let’s say your website has a CTR rate of say 30%, and the
average earning per Adsense click is $.65. You just made over $10 a day. That’s 300 dollars a month, in your pocket, no effort, every month, like clockwork. Big deal, but what if you made ten of these websites. Three thousand every month, profit, into your bank account. What do you do? Make sure your domain and hosting doesn’t expire. That’s it, you just sit back and watch the money pour in. Sound too good to be true? It won’t when you wake up to 20 bucks sitting in your Adsense account that you made sleeping. 3 Critical Resources Needed For Affiliate Marketing Like A Pro
How does one become a professional Affiliate Marketer? What are the components of an affiliate marketing success story? If all those testimonials are true, how do they make it seem so easy? All these inquiries dance in the back of the head of affiliate marketers who seek success in this area.
Though affiliate marketing is touted as one of the easiest and furthest most hard hitting ways to create profit online, it is not as easy as it’s made out to be. The wise affiliate marketer has a systematic plan and executes it the most proficient way he knows. He also strives to increase the potential to succeed by applying the correct resources suitable for a flourishing Affiliate Marketing program. A few tings are found in common with successful Internet Marketers and lower down are the top three essential tools for a thriving affiliate marketing business.
Important Tip #1: Your Own Website
The greatest important and necessary instrument in Affiliate Marketing is having your own site. The chief step in any thriving affiliate marketing business is creating a good, creditable and professional looking website. Your website is the jump off point of all your marketing efforts. Therefore, you must first create an -easy-to-use website, which will appeal to your prospects and encourage them to click on the links to the goods and services you are promoting and in turn, turning them into customers.
Consequently, you must begin your efforts in building a site that can cater to what your prospects need. The most important thing you should consider is that almost all web users go online to search for information, not automatically to go and buy something.
First and foremost, make your website full of original, appropriate and practical content. People love articles that are appealing and helpful. Keep in mind that, in the internet, content is always key and top quality content will not just raise your credibility; it can also help you fulfill a higher-level search engine ranking. By posting relevant and useful articles, you establish yourself as a credible authority in the field, displaying you a trustworthy endorser of the product or service you support. Establishing a good reputation is a good move in building up a loyal consumer base.
Important Tip #2: Incentives
Competition is extremely fierce in the internet world. You should always be one-movement in advance of your rivals to ensure that you capture a critical share of your target market. Therefore, you must use every conceivable means to inspire people not solely to visit your website but also to click and proceed to the websites of the opportunities and services you are promoting. Creating an opt-in email list is one of the better ways to gather prospects. Offer a newsletter or an e-zine. Better yet, offer incentives to your prospects to inspire them to subscribe to your newsletters. You can present free softwares, access to unique services and other freebies that will be helpful to your prospects.
Important Tip #3: Url Popularity
Having the best web site in the whole world will not make you a dime without traffic! The all-important web traffic is at the top of the list of the most crucial entities in the internet arena. After building and testing your website, all your focus should be on traffic. Do everything to achieve a top search engine ranking. Link Popularity is one of the factors that search engines use to establish search engine rankings. So, to elevate your link popularity, you must launch an aggressive reciprocal link action.
One of the better ways to do this, at no cost at all, is by submitting articles, with your site’s web address in the resource box, to e-zines and free article sites. Marketers have different strategies. Some will take one huge link from E-Zine Articles while others spin them off to distribute them to dozens of smaller sites… Both is better! You may not only earn exposure, you may also have the opportunity to advertise for no cost, just include a link pointing to your site. The more sites you send your articles to, the better your link popularity is. Never steel other peoples content, so that other websites may pick it up and post it.
These are but three of the many tools that an affiliate marketer can use to build up earning potential. The possibilities are endless and are restricted only by your vision, creativity, resourcefulness and resolution. You can always explore other ideas and adapt other strategies, which you believe might help you become a top-dog affiliate marketer.

So ok, we have established that articles are very important to a site and to business. Articles are crucial and to keep ahead in the game, a site must have an article, it is imperative. There is one dilemma though, not many people like writing articles.
Many website owners would rather spend their time on something else, and unless you’re a big time company, you don’t have the necessary resources to use on a pool of article writers. Plagiarism or copying of other articles is frowned upon and could easily get you into trouble, worst case scenario; a hefty fine and jail time.
So what are the other options?
Well, for starters if you hate writing articles and you can’t afford to hire people to write for you then don’t. Get free articles. The first place to look at for free articles is the public domain. Here you won’t have problems with copyright infringement and the following penalties and fines if you get caught for plagiarism.
Public domain articles are articles freely given to the public for public use. You can do whatever you want with it. You can place it on your site, name it as yours, put it in a newsletter its you decision. Always remember though that you will have to choose articles that is very relevant to your site.
The downside to public domain articles is that since it is free for everybody, many of your competitors may have access to them as well. Since every site needs to be original and unique even though you have the same niche, this could be a predicament. You may also have to edit them a bit to place more keywords and keyword phrases to make them better.
Another way to get free articles is to allow other sites which has the same subject or topic as yours to submit articles to your site. This would be only to augment your existing content or else all your articles would be leading to other sites since these articles would have resource boxes with them that could link or direct the readers to their site. That’s why it is important to have your own articles; you cold use them to link your site to other sites as well.
But, to truly feel the impact of what a good article to you, go for original ones. There are many article writers who do part time and freelance article writing jobs that charges only minimal fees. You can get good articles that have all the keywords and keyword phrases you need and people are looking for.
The investment you made for these articles would be worthwhile because you could use them for all the benefits you could offer. You hold copyrights to them and you will be able to use them anyway you want. As your articles help you in building your business and your site, you will have more articles to write and maybe then you wont be having second thoughts about articles.
